Thefrontpassengersensingsystemisdesignedtomeettheregulatory
requirementsofFederalMotorVehicleSafetyStandard(FMVSS)208
andisdesignedtodisable(willnotinflate)thefrontpassenger’sfrontal
airbagundercertainconditions.
Thefrontpassengersensingsystemworkswithsensorsthatarepartof
thefrontpassenger’sseatandsafetybelt.Thesensorsaredesignedto
detectthepresenceofaproperlyseatedoccupantanddetermineifthe
frontpassenger’sfrontalairbagshouldbeenabled(mayinflate)or
disabled(willnotinflate).
