Seating and Safety Restraints
Therearseatsofyourvehicleareequippedwithbuilt-intetherstrap
anchorslocatedbehindtheseatsasdescribedbelow.
Fourdoor:Thetetheranchorsinyourvehiclearelocatedunderacover
markedwiththetetheranchorsymbol(shownwithtitle).
Fivedoor:Thetetheranchorsinyourvehiclearelocatedontheback
paneloftherearseat,markedwiththetetheranchorsymbol(shown
withtitle).
Thetetherstrapanchorsinyour
vehicleareinthefollowingpositions
(shownfromtopview):
Attachthetetherstraponlytotheappropriatetetheranchorasshown.
Thetetherstrapmaynotworkproperlyifattachedsomewhereother
thanthecorrecttetheranchor.
Oncethechildsafetyseathasbeeninstalledusingeitherthesafetybelt,
theloweranchorsoftheLATCHsystem,orboth,youcanattachthetop
tetherstrap.
IfyouinstallachildseatwithrigidLATCHattachments,donottighten
thetetherstrapenoughtoliftthechildseatoffthevehicleseatcushion
whenthechildisseatedinit.Keepthetetherstrapjustsnugwithout
liftingthefrontofthechildseat.Keepingthechildseatjusttouchingthe
vehicleseatgivesthebestprotectioninaseverecrash.
Performthefollowingstepstoinstallachildsafetyseatwithtether
anchors:
Fourdoor
1.
Routethechildsafetyseattetherstrapoverthebackoftheseat.
Foroutboardseatingpositions,routethetetherstrapunderthehead
restraintandbetweentheheadrestraintposts.Forthecenterseating
positions,routethetetherstrapoverthetopoftheheadrestraint.
