ASSIST™PRIVACYNOTICE:Once911Assist™isenabled
(settoON),911Assist™may,throughanypairedandconnected
cellphone,disclosetoemergencyservicesthatthevehiclehas
beeninacrashinvolvingthedeploymentofanairbagor,in
certainvehicles,theactivationofthefuelpumpshut-off.Certain
versionsorupdatesto911Assist™mayalsobecapableof
electronicallyorverballydisclosingto911operatorsthevehicle
location,and/orotherdetailsaboutthevehicleorcrashtoassist
911
operatorstoprovidethemostappropriateemergency
services.Ifyoudonotwanttodisclosethisinformation,donot
enable(settoON)thefeature.
Note:If911Assist™isenabled/disabledbyanyuser,thecurrentsetting
willapplyforallpairedphones.Ifthe911Assist™settingisdisabled
(settoOFF),avoicemessageand/ordisplayitemwillinformthevehicle
occupantswhenapreviouslypairedphoneconnectstoSYNCatvehicle
startup.
Intheeventofacrashinvolvingthedeploymentofanairbagorthe
activationofthefuelpumpshut-off,incertainvehicles,SYNCis
designedtoassistoccupantsinattemptingtocontactemergencyservices
bydialing911throughtheoccupant’spairedandconnectedBluetooth
enabledcellularphone.Intheeventthataconnectedcellularphoneis
damagedorlosesconnectiontoSYNC,SYNCwillsearchforand
connecttoanyavailable,previouslypairedcellphoneandattemptto
placethecallto911.Beforeinitiatingthecall,SYNCprovidesashort
windowoftime(approximately10seconds)thatallowsthedriveror
passengertodecidewhethertocancelthecallbypressingand
holding
orPHONEonthesteeringwheelcontrolsorontheaudio
system.Beforeinitiatingthe911callfortheoccupants,SYNCwillsay
thefollowingorasimilarmessage:
“SYNCwillattempttocall911.Ifyouwishtocancelthecall,pressand
holdthephonebutton.”
Ifthecallisnotcancelledandasuccessfulcallismade,apre-recorded
messagewillbeplayedforthe911operatorandthentheoccupant(s)in
thevehiclewillbeabletocommunicatewiththe911operator.
Note:FailuretocancelthecallasdescribedabovewillresultinSYNC
dialing911.
Note:Whenyouareconnectedtothe911operator,bepreparedto
provideyourname,phonenumberandlocationimmediately,becausenot
all911systemsarecapableofreceivingthisinformationelectronically.
