Driving
Ifthefuseisnotblownandthebrakelampsareworkingproperly,the
followingprocedurewillallowyoutomovethegearshiftleverfromP
(Park):
1.
Applytheparkingbrake,turnthe
ignitionkeytotheoffpositionand
removethekey.
2.
Usingascrewdriver(orsimilar
tool),carefullypryoffandremove
thepassengersideconsolecoverto
exposetheinsideoftheshifter
assembly.
3.
Locatethebrakeshiftinterlock
leveronthepassengersideofthe
shifterassembly.
4.
Applythebrakepedal.Usinga
screwdriver(orsimilartool),press
andholdthebrakeshiftinterlock
leverforwardbelowthemetalblade
whilepullingthegearshiftleverout
oftheP(Park)positionandinto
theN(Neutral)position.
5.

Installtheconsolecover.
Applythebrakepedal,startthevehicleandreleasetheparkingbrake.
Seeyourauthorizeddealerassoonaspossibleifthisprocedure
isused.
WARNING:Donotdriveyourvehicleuntilyouverifythatthe
brakelampsareworking.
WARNING:Alwayssettheparkingbrakefullyandmakesure
thegearshiftislatchedinP(Park).Turntheignitiontotheoff
positionandremovethekeywheneveryouleaveyourvehicle.
WARNING:Iftheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased,butthebrake
warninglampremainsilluminated,thebrakesmaynotbe
workingproperly.Seeyourauthorizeddealer.
