Thisdatacanhelpprovideabetterunderstandingofthe
circumstancesinwhichcrashesandinjuriesoccur.
Note:EDRdataisrecordedbyyourvehicleonlyifanon-trivial
crashsituationoccurs;nodataisrecordedbytheEDRunder
normaldrivingconditionsandnopersonaldataorinformation
(e.g.,name,gender,age,andcrashlocation)isrecorded(see
limitationsregarding911AssistandTraffic,directionsand
Informationprivacybelow).However,parties,suchaslaw
enforcement,couldcombinetheEDRdatawiththetypeof
personallyidentifyingdataroutinelyacquiredduringacrash
investigation.
ToreaddatarecordedbyanEDR,specialequipmentisrequired,
andaccesstothevehicleortheEDRisneeded.Inadditiontothe
vehiclemanufacturer,otherparties,suchaslawenforcement,
thathavesuchspecialequipment,canreadtheinformationif
theyhaveaccesstothevehicleortheEDR.FordMotorCompany
andFordofCanadadonotaccesseventdatarecorder
informationwithoutobtainingconsent,unlesspursuanttocourt
orderorwhererequiredbylawenforcement,othergovernment
authoritiesorotherthirdpartiesactingwithlawfulauthority.
Otherpartiesmayseektoaccesstheinformationindependently
ofFordMotorCompanyandFordofCanada.

to911Assistmayalsobecapableofbeingusedtoelectronically
orverballyprovideto911operatorsthevehiclelocation(suchas
latitudeandlongitude),and/orotherdetailsaboutthevehicleor
crashorpersonalinformationabouttheoccupantstoassist911
operatorstoprovidethemostappropriateemergencyservices.If
youdonotwanttodisclosethisinformation,donotactivatethe
