Hill start assist (HSA)  system (if equipped)
Thehillstartassist(HSA)systemmakesiteasiertopullawaywhenthe
vehicleisonaslopewithouttheneedtousetheparkingbrake.When
HSAisactive,thevehiclewillremainstationaryontheslopefortwoto
threesecondsafteryoureleasethebrakepedal.Duringthistime,you
havetimetomoveyourfootfromthebraketotheacceleratorpedaland
pullaway.Thebrakesarereleasedautomaticallyoncetheenginehas
developedsufficientdrivetopreventthevehiclefromrollingdownthe
slope.Thisisanadvantagewhenpullingawayonaslope,(forexample,
fromacarparkramp,trafficlightsorwhileinreversetravelinguphill
intoaparkingspace).
WARNING:HSAdoesnotreplacetheparkingbrake.Whenyou
leavethevehicle,alwaysapplytheparkingbrakeandselectP
(Park).
UsingHSA
TheHSAsystemisactivatedautomaticallywhenthevehicleisstopped
onaslopegreaterthanfourdegrees.HSAoperateswiththevehicle
facingdownhillifreversegearisselected.
WARNING:Youmustremaininthevehicleonceyouhave
activatedHSA.
WARNING:Duringalltimesyouareresponsibleforcontrolling
thevehicle,supervisingtheHSAsystemandintervening,if
required.
