TurnthekeytoIII(start),then
releasethekeyassoonasthe
enginebeginscranking.Yourvehicle
hasacomputerassistedcranking
systemthatassistsinstartingthe
engine.Afterreleasingthekeyfrom
theIII(start)position,theenginemaycontinuecrankingforupto
secondsoruntilthevehiclestarts.

Note:Crankingmaybestoppedatanytimebyturningthekeytotheoff
position.

Afteridlingforafewseconds,releasetheparkingbrake,applythe
brake,shiftintogearanddrive.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartonthefirsttry,turnthevehicletothe
offposition,wait10secondsandtryStep2again.Iftheenginestillfails
tostart,presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryStep2again,keeping
theacceleratorontheflooruntiltheenginebeginstoaccelerateabove
crankingspeeds;thiswillallowtheenginetocrankwiththefuelshutoff
incasetheengineisfloodedwithfuel.
Push button start system (if equipped)
Ifyourvehicleisequippedwiththe
pushbuttonstartsystem,youcan
startyourvehiclebypressingthe
startbuttonincombinationwiththe
brakepedal(automatic
transmission)orclutchpedal
(manualtransmission)ratherthan
usingakey.Thestartbuttonis
locatedontheinstrumentpanelto
therightofthesteeringwheel.
Inordertooperatethepushbutton
startsystemandstartthevehicle,yourintelligentaccesskey(IAkey)
mustbepresentinsidethevehicle.

Off—pressandreleasetheSTART/STOPbuttonwithoutapplyingthe
brakepedal(automatictransmission)orclutchpedal(manual
transmission)whenyourvehicleisinonmodeorwhentheengineis
running.
