ActivatetheignitionbypressingtheSTART/STOPbutton,butnot
applyingthebrakepedal.

Pressthebrakepedal,thenmovethegearshifttotheN(Neutral)
position.Theremustbebatterypowertoproperlymovethe
transmission’sinternalcomponentstoN(Neutral).Also,movingthe
gearshifttotheN(Neutral)withoutfirsthavingtheignitiononlimitsthe
towingcapabilityto35mph(56km/h)and50miles(80km).

DeactivatetheignitionbypressingtheSTART/STOPbutton,butnot
applyingthebrakepedal.

Disconnectthenegative(black)cablefromthebattery.(Thedoorkey
[insidetheIntelligentAccessKey]isneededtolock/unlockdoorswhen
thebatterycableisdisconnected.Also,theanti-theftsystemisdisabled
untilthebatterycableisreconnected.)RefertoBatteryinthe
MaintenanceandSpecificationschapterwhendisconnectingand
reconnectingthebatterycable.
