notfillthereservoircompletely.
Onlyuseawasherfluidthatmeets
Fordspecifications.Donotuseany
specialwasherfluidsuchas
windshieldwaterrepellenttypefluid
orbugwash.Theymaycause
squeaking,chatternoise,streakingandsmearing.RefertoMaintenance
productspecificationsandcapacitiesinthischapter.
Stateorlocalregulationsonvolatileorganiccompoundsmayrestrictthe
useofmethanol,acommonwindshieldwasherantifreezeadditive.
Washerfluidscontainingnon-methanolantifreezeagentsshouldbeused
onlyiftheyprovidecoldweatherprotectionwithoutdamagingthe
vehicle’spaintfinish,wiperbladesorwashersystem.
WARNING:Ifyouoperateyourvehicleintemperaturesbelow
40°F
(5°C),usewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotection.Failure
tousewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotectionincoldweathercould
resultinimpairedwindshieldvisionandincreasetheriskofinjuryor
accident.
CHANGING THE WIPER BLADES
Changeyourwiperbladesatleast
onceeveryyear.Inspectthemby
runningyourfingeralongeachblade
tofeelforirregularities.
Poorwiperqualitycanbeimproved
bycleaningthewiperbladesand
windshield.RefertoWindowsand
wiperbladesintheCleaning
chapter.
WARNING:Wornwiper
bladedcanreducevisibility
