thebrakecomponentsarereplaced.
FluidlevelsbetweentheMINand
MAXlinesarewithinthenormal
operatingrange;thereisnoneedto
addfluid.Ifthefluidlevelsare
outsideofthenormaloperating
range,theperformanceofthesystemcouldbecompromised;seek
servicefromyourauthorizeddealerimmediately.
TRANSMISSION FLUID
Checking 6-speed automatic transmission fluid
Theautomatictransmissiondoesnothaveatransmissionfluiddipstick.
Refertoyourscheduledmaintenanceinformationforscheduled
intervalsforfluidchecksandchanges.Yourtransmissiondoesnot
consumefluid.However,thefluidlevelshouldbecheckedifthe
transmissionisnotworkingproperly,(i.e.,ifthetransmissionslipsor
shiftsslowly)orifyounoticesomesignoffluidleakage.
Transmissionfluidshouldbecheckedbyanauthorizeddealer.If
required,fluidshouldbeaddedbyanauthorizeddealer.
Donotusesupplementaltransmissionfluidadditives,treatmentsor
cleaningagents.Theuseofthesematerialsmayaffecttransmission
operationandresultindamagetointernaltransmissioncomponents.
Checking and adding manual transmission fluid (if equipped)

Cleanthefillerplug.
2.
Removethefillerplugand
inspectthefluidlevel.
3.
Fluidlevelshouldbeatthe
bottomoftheopening.
4.
Addenoughfluidthroughthe
filleropeningsothatthefluidlevel
is5-10mmbelowthebottomofthe
opening.
5.
Installandtightenthefillplugsecurely.
UseonlyfluidthatmeetsFordspecifications.RefertotheMaintenance
productspecificationsandcapacitiessectioninthischapter.
