MyKey™isnotcompatiblewithnon-Fordapprovedaftermarketremote
startsystems.Ifyouchoosetoinstallaremotestartsystempleasesee
yourauthorizeddealerforaFordapprovedremotestartsystem.
Vehiclesequippedwithtraditionalkeys:
WhenusingaFord-approvedremotestartsystem,thedefaultsettings
willrecognizetheremotestartsystemasanadditionaladminkeywith
itsassociatedprivileges.Ownersofvehiclesequippedwithtraditional
keysshouldprogramtheremotestartsystemasaMyKey™inaddition
tothekeythattheyhavealreadyprogrammedasaMyKey™.To
programtheremotestartsystemasMyKey™,dothefollowing:

Remotestartthevehicleusingaremotestartfob.

ItisnotpossibletoprogramtheremotestartsystemasaMyKey™on
vehiclesequippedwithintelligentaccesskey(pushbuttonstart).
Therefore,youshouldtreattheremotestartfobasyouwouldany
otheradminkey.Whenthevehicleisstartedusingremotestart,the
systemwillstalltheenginewhenyoueitherenterthevehicleorshift
thevehicleintogear.Priortotheenginestall,thevehiclewillhave
administrativeprivileges.Whenyourestarttheengine,thevehiclewill
identifytheuserasanadminorMyKey™driverdependingonthe
settingsoftheactualkeyusedtostartthevehicle.
Note:Forallvehicles,thenumberofMYKEY(S)PROGRAMMEDor
ADMINKEYSPROGRAMMEDthatisdisplayedintheMyKey™system
statusmenuswillincludetheremotestartsystemasanadditionalkeyin
thetotalcount.SeetheCheckMyKey™systemstatussection.
