Warninglightsandgaugescanalertyoutoavehicleconditionthatmay

becomeseriousenoughtocauseextensiverepairs.Awarninglightmay

illuminatewhenaproblemexistswithoneofyourvehicle’sfunctions.

Manylightswillilluminatewhenyoustartyourvehicletomakesurethe

bulbswork.Ifanylightremainsonafterstartingthevehicle,refertothe

respectivesystemwarninglightforadditionalinformation.

Note:Somewarninglightsare

reconfigurabletelltale(RTT)

indicatorlightsandwillilluminatein

themessagecenter.Theselights

functionthesameastheother

warninglights.

Serviceenginesoon:The“service

enginesoon”indicatorlight

illuminateswhentheignitionisfirst

turnedtotheonpositiontocheck

thebulbandtoindicatewhetherthevehicleisreadyfor

Inspection/Maintenance(I/M)testing.Normally,the“Serviceengine

soon”lightwillstayonuntiltheengineiscranked,thenturnitselfoffif

nomalfunctionsarepresent.However,ifafter15secondstheЉService

enginesoonЉlightblinkseighttimes,itmeansthatthevehicleisnot

readyforI/Mtesting.SeetheReadinessforInspection/Maintenance

(I/M)testingintheMaintenanceandSpecificationschapter.
