allow.Theshoulderbeltshouldbe
positionedtocrossthemiddleof
theshoulderandthecenterofthe
chest.
Safety belt locking modes
Allsafetyrestraintsinthevehiclearecombinationlapandshoulder
belts.Thedriversafetybelthasthefirstlockingmodeandthefront
outboardpassengerandrearseatsafetybeltshavebothtypesoflocking
modesdescribedasfollows:
Vehiclesensitivemode
Thisisthenormalretractormode,whichallowsfreeshoulderbeltlength
adjustmenttoyourmovementsandlockinginresponsetovehicle
movement.Forexample,ifthedriverbrakessuddenlyorturnsacorner
sharply,orthevehiclereceivesanimpactofapproximately5mph
(8
km/h)ormore,thecombinationsafetybeltswilllocktohelpreduce
forwardmovementofthedriverandpassengers.
Inaddition,theretractorisdesignedtolockifthewebbingispulledout
tooquickly.Ifthisoccurs,letthebeltretractslightlyandpullwebbing
outagaininaslowandcontrolledmanner.
Automaticlockingmode
Inthismode,theshoulderbeltisautomaticallypre-locked.Thebeltwill
stillretracttoremoveanyslackintheshoulderbelt.Theautomatic
lockingmodeisnotavailableonthedriversafetybelt.
Whentousetheautomaticlockingmode
Thismodeshouldbeusedanytimeachildsafetyseat,excepta
booster,isinstalledinpassengerfrontorrearseatingpositions.Children
