automaticallywhenyouaretowingonlong,steepgrades.
ItisrecommendedtoselecttheL(Low)orM(Manual)gearposition
whenadditionalenginebrakingisneeded.Insituationssuchas
prolongeddownhilldrivingonsteepgrades(i.e.,drivingin
mountainousareas),additionalenginebrakingisneededtoreducethe
loadonthevehicle’sregularbrakesystemtopreventthemfrom
overheating.

Allowmoredistanceforstoppingwithatrailerattached;anticipate
stopsandbrakegradually.

Practiceturning,stoppingandbacking-upbeforestartingonatripto
getthefeelofthevehicle-trailercombination.Whenturning,make
widerturnssothetrailerwheelswillclearcurbsandotherobstacles.

Toaidinengine/transmissioncoolingandA/Cefficiencyduringhot
weatherwhilestoppedintraffic,placethegearshiftleverinP(Park).
Afteryouhavetraveled50miles(80km),thoroughlycheckyour
hitch,electricalconnectionsandtrailerwheellugnuts.
Ifyouaredrivingdownalongorsteephill,shifttoalowergear.Do
notapplythebrakescontinuously,astheymayoverheatandbecome
lesseffective.

Vehicleswithtrailersshouldnotbeparkedonagrade.Ifyoumust
parkonagrade,placewheelchocksunderthetrailer’swheels.
