TheBLISandCTAhasayellow
indicator(alsoreferredtoasthe
alert)locatedintheleftandright
exteriormirrors.Whenthevehicleis
started,theBLISautomatically
illuminatesbothindicatorsfor
severalsecondsindicatingthe
systemisoperating.Thefirsttime
youplacethetransmissioninD(Drive)afterstartingtheengineand
driveforwardataspeedgreaterthan3mph(5km/h)theBLISsystem
becomesactive.Afterwards,theBLISremainsactiveforallspeeds
includingzeromph.BLISisalsoactiveifthetransmissionisplacedinN
(Neutral).IfthetransmissionisshiftedoutofD(Drive)orN(Neutral)
thesystemwillentertheCTAmode(seeCTAoperationbelow).Once
shiftedbackintoD(Drive)theBLISmodewillactivateoncedriven
above3mph(5km/h).
TheBLISwilltriggerthealertforvehiclesthatenteryourblindzone
fromtherearormergeintotheblindzonefromtheside.Vehiclesthat
youpass,oravehiclethatenterstheblindzonefromthefront,will
triggerthealertonlyafterthevehicleispresentintheblindzonefor
threeseconds.Note:Forvehiclesthatpassthroughtheblindzone
quickly,typicallylessthantwoseconds,theBLISwillnotilluminatethe
alert.
TheBLISconsistsoftworadar
sensorseachlocatedrearwardof
therearwheelshiddenbehindthe
bumperfascia.Donotplaceany
typeofbumperstickerinthisarea.
Note:TheBLIStypicallywillnot
detectparkedvehicles,humans,
animals,orinfrastructure(fences,
guardrails,trees,etc.).TheBLIS
doesnotfunctionwhenthetransmissionisinR(Reverse)orP(Park).
TheBLISdoesnotprovideanyadditionalwarningwhenyourturn
signalisactivated.
