seatmayaffecttheperformanceofthefrontpassengersensing

Determiningifthesystemisoperational
Thesupplementalrestraintsystemusesawarningindicatorlightinthe
instrumentclusterorabackuptonetoindicatetheconditionofthe
system.RefertotheWarninglightsandchimessectioninthe
InstrumentClusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceoftheairbagisnot
required.
Adifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthefollowing:

Thereadinesslight(samelight
forfrontandsideairbagsystem)
willeitherflashorstaylit.

Thereadinesslightwillnot
illuminateimmediatelyafterignitionisturnedon.
Aseriesoffivebeepswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwillrepeat
periodicallyuntiltheproblemand/orlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,havethesupplemental
restraintsystemservicedatanauthorizeddealerimmediately.Unless
serviced,thesystemmaynotfunctionproperlyintheeventofa
collision.
Seat-mounted side airbag system
WARNING:Donotplaceobjectsormountequipmentonor
neartheairbagcoveronthesideoftheseatbacksofthefront
seatsorinfrontseatareasthatmaycomeintocontactwitha
deployingairbag.Failuretofollowtheseinstructionsmayincreasethe
riskofpersonalinjuryintheeventofacollision.
WARNING:Donotuseaccessoryseatcovers.Theuseof
accessoryseatcoversmaypreventthedeploymentoftheside
airbagsandincreasetheriskofinjuryinanaccident.
WARNING:Donotleanyourheadonthedoor.Thesideairbag
couldinjureyouasitdeploysfromthesideoftheseatback.
