Oils,fluidsandflushing
Inmanycases,fluiddiscolorationisanormaloperatingcharacteristic
and,byitself,doesnotnecessarilyindicateaconcernorthatthefluid
needstobechanged.However,discoloredfluidsthatalsoshowsignsof
overheatingand/orforeignmaterialcontaminationshouldbeinspected
immediatelybyaqualifiedexpertsuchasthefactory-trainedtechnicians
atyourdealership.Yourvehicle’soilsandfluidsshouldbechangedatthe
specifiedintervalsorinconjunctionwitharepair.Flushingisaviable
waytochangefluidformanyvehiclesub-systemsduringscheduled
maintenance.Itiscriticalthatsystemsareflushedonlywithnewfluid
thatisthesameasthatrequiredtofillandoperatethesystem,orusing
aFord-approvedflushingchemical.
