isequippedwiththissystem,yourequipmentincludesaheaterelement
whichisinstalledinyourengineblockandawireharnesswhichallows
theusertoconnectthesystemtoagrounded120voltA/Celectrical
source.Theblockheatersystemismosteffectivewhenoutdoor
temperaturesreachbelow0°F(-18°C).
WARNING:Failuretofollowengineblockheaterinstructions
couldresultinpropertydamageorphysicalinjury.
WARNING:Toreducetheriskofelectricalshock,donotuse
yourheaterwithungroundedelectricalsystemsortwo-pronged
(cheater)adapters.
Priortousingtheengineblockheater,followtheserecommendationsfor
properandsafeoperation:

Foryoursafety,useanoutdoorextensioncordthatisproduct
certifiedbyUnderwriter’sLaboratory(UL)orCanadianStandards
Association(CSA).Useonlyanextensioncordthatcanbeused
outdoors,incoldtemperatures,andisclearlymarked“SuitableforUse
withOutdoorAppliances.”Neveruseanindoorextensioncord
outdoors;itcouldresultinanelectricshockorfirehazard.

Usea16-gaugeoutdoorextensioncord,minimum.
Useasshortanextensioncordaspossible.
Donotusemultipleextensioncords.Instead,useoneextensioncord
whichislongenoughtoreachfromtheengineblockheatercordto

Makecertainthattheextensioncordisinexcellentcondition(not
patchedorspliced).Storeyourextensioncordindoorsat
temperaturesabove32°F(0°C).Outdoorconditionscandeteriorate
extensioncordsoveraperiodoftime.
Toreducetheriskofelectricalshock,donotuseyourheaterwith
ungroundedelectricalsystemsortwopronged(cheater)adapters.
Alsoensurethattheblockheater,especiallythecord,isingood
conditionbeforeuse.
Makesurethatwheninoperation,theextensioncordplug/engine
blockheatercordplugconnectionisfreeandclearofwaterinorder
topreventpossibleshockorfire.
