Thesystemisoperatedbycontrolsmounted
onthesteeringwheel.Thedrivercanalso
interveneatanytimebytheuseofthebrakeor
acceleratorpedals.
TheAdaptiveCruiseControl(ACC)systemis
designedtomaintainagapfromthevehicle
aheadorasetroadspeedifthereisnoslower
vehicleahead.Aspeedmaybesetatbetween
32
km/h(20mph)and180km/h(112mph).
ThesetspeedwillbedisplayedintheMessage
centre.
Thesystemactsbyregulatingthespeedofthe
vehicle,usingenginecontrolandthebrakes.
ACCisnotacollisionwarningor
avoidancesystem.Additionally,ACC
willnotreactto:
Pedestriansorobjectsintheroadway.
Oncomingvehiclesinthesamelane.

Presstosetthevehicle'scurrentspeedas
thesetspeed.TheACCwarninglampwill
illuminatetoconfirmACCisoperational.

WhileACCisenabled,furtherpressingof
thebuttonwillraisethesetspeedabove
thevehicle'scurrentspeed.Thespeedof
thevehiclewillgraduallyincreasetoreach
thenewsetspeed.
TheACCsystemusesaradarsensor,which
projectsabeamdirectlyforwardofthevehicle
todetectobjectsahead.
Theradarsensorismountedatthefrontofthe
vehiclebehindtheductinthelowercooling
aperture,toprovideaclearviewforwardforthe
radarbeam.
UseACConlywhenconditionsare
favourable,i.e.mainroadswithtraffic
movinginlanes.
Donotuseduringabruptorsharpturns,
e.g.,trafficislands,junctions,areaswith
manyparkedvehiclesorareassharedwith
pedestrians.
Donotuseinpoorvisibility,specifically
fog,heavyrain,sprayorsnow.
Donotuseonicyorslipperyroads.
