ACC.YoucannotdisengageFollowmodeand
stilluseCruisecontroltomaintainyourspeed.
Thevehicleaheadacceleratestoaspeed
abovethesetspeed,orchangeslane.
Onceasetspeedhasbeenselected,thedriver
canreleasetheacceleratorandthesetroad
speedwillbemaintained.
Youchangelanetoeithersideorenteran
exitlane.
Thedrivershouldinterveneifappropriate.
Ifavehicleaheadentersthesamelaneora
slowervehicleisaheadinthesamelane,your
vehiclespeedwilladjustautomaticallyuntilthe
gaptothevehicleaheadcorrespondstothe
gapsetting.Thevehicleisnowinfollowmode.
Ifadirectionindicatorisused,ACCwillreduce
thegaptothevehicleaheadsoastorespond
morequicklytotheanticipatedmanoeuvre.Ifa
manoeuvreisnotactioned,thepreviousgap
willberestoredafterafewseconds.Enhanced
responsemaynotoccurifACCdetectsthatitis
inappropriate,i.e.,youarealreadytoocloseto
thevehicleaheadoryouarealreadyinanother
lane.
TheFollowmodewarninglampwillilluminate
toconfirmFollowmodeisoperational(see45,
FOLLOWMODE(AMBER)).
TheMessagecentrewilldisplaythegapsetin
theformofavehiclewithavaryingnumberof
barsinfrontofit.

gaptothevehicleaheaduntil:

islimitedandcanbeoverriddenbythedriver
applyingthebrakes,ifrequired.
IftheTerrainResponse,Grass-Gravel-Snow
modeisselected,thenthelongestgap(gap4)
willinitiallybeselected.
