OFFswitch.TheDSCOFFwarninglampwill
illuminate.See90,DYNAMICSTABILITY
CONTROL(DSC).DeactivatingDSCalso
reducesthelevelofElectronicTractionControl
(ETC)interventionandmayleadtoanincrease
inwheelspin.
DSCmaintainsvehiclestability,evenincritical
drivingsituations,whenacceleratingandwhen
startingfromastandstill.Additionally,it
identifiesunstabledrivingbehaviour,suchas
understeerandoversteerandhelpstokeepthe
vehicleundercontrolbymanipulatingthe
engineoutputandapplyingthebrakesat
individualwheels.Somenoisemaybe
SWITCHINGDSCON
generatedwhenthebrakesareapplied.
Note:DSCisenabledautomaticallyatthestart
ofeachignitioncycle.
SWITCHINGDSCOFF
PressandbrieflyholdtheDSCOFFswitchto
re-enableDSC.Alternatively,selectanew
TerrainResponsespecialprogramme.
Safetymaybereducedby
inappropriatelydisablingDSC.Inthe
majorityofdrivingsituations,and
particularlyon-road,itis
recommendedthatyoudonotdisable
DSC.
Note:DSCisautomaticallydisabledwhenthe
ignitionisswitchedoff.
DSCmustbeswitchedoffwhen
tractiondevicesarefitted.See235,
USINGSNOWCHAINS.
