IfthevehicleisstationarywiththeEPBapplied
andthetransmissionisengagedinDrive(D )or
Reverse(R),depressingtheacceleratorpedal
willreleasetheEPBandallowthevehicleto
moveoff.
Note:Atthestartofajourney,EPBrelease
timesmaybeextendedwhenchangingfromP
orNeutral(N).Thisistoallowforincreased
gearengagementtimes.
WhenshiftingfromPwiththeEPBapplied,the
EPBwillautomaticallyreleasetoallowa
smoothdriveaway.
Vehicleswithmanualtransmission
TheEPBwillbeappliedautomaticallyifthe
ignitionisswitchedoffandthevehiclespeedis
below3km/h(2mph).
Topreventthisautomaticoperation,whenthe
vehicleisstationary,pressandholdtheEPB
switchinthereleaseposition.Within5
seconds,switchofftheignitionandcontinueto
holdtheEPBswitchforafurther2seconds.
Ifthevehicleisstationarywiththeengine
runningandtheEPBapplied,pressingthe
acceleratorpedalandreleasingtheclutchpedal
toengageagear,willreleasetheEPB
automaticallyandallowthevehicletomoveoff.
Note:Automaticreleasewillonlyoperatein
first,secondandreversegears.
