latchedclosed.
Whenthemisfuellingdeviceis
activated,itmaycausefueltobe
dischargedfromthefillerneck.
Note:Thefillerflapwillonlybelockedclosed
whenthevehicleiscentrallylocked.
Note:Itisthedriver’sresponsibilitytofillthe
vehiclewiththecorrectfuel.Thediesel
misfuellingprotectiondeviceonlyreducesthe
riskoffillingthevehiclewiththeincorrectfuel.
FUELFILLER
Whenrefuellingmakesureall
windows,doors,andsunroofarefully
closed,particularlyifyoungchildren
oranimalsareinthevehicle.
Dieselenginevehiclesinsomemarketsare
equippedwithamisfuellingprotectiondevice,
incorporatedintothefuelfillerneck.
Donotattempttofillthetanktoits
maximumcapacity.Ifthevehicleisto
beparkedonaslope,indirect
sunlight,orhighambient
temperature,expansionofthefuel
couldcausespillage.
Ifthenarrowfillernozzlefittedtopumps
deliveringunleadedpetrolisfullyinsertedinto
thefillerneck,themisfuelprotectiondevicewill
activate.
Note:Thedieselmisfuellingprotectiondevice
maynotactivateifanunleadedpetrolnozzleis
onlypartiallyinserted.
Donotoperatetheauxiliaryheater
whenrefuellingthevehicle.Doingso
maycausefuelvapourstocombust
causingafire/explosion.
Note:Thefillerspoutonsomefuelcansand
olderfuelpumpsmaytriggerthemisfuelling
device.
Checkthefuelpumpinformation
carefully,tomakesureyouareputting
thecorrectfuelintothevehicle.
Whenactivated,theyellowmisfuelprotector
willbevisibleinsidethefillerneck.Itwill
preventfuelflowintothetank.Beforefuelling
cancontinuewiththecorrectfuel,thedevice
willneedtobereset.
Ifthevehicleisfilledwithincorrectfuel
itisessentialthatyouseekqualified
assistancebeforeyoustarttheengine.
Theresettoolislocatedintheluggage
compartment.
Fillingstationpumpsareequippedwith
automaticcut-offsensingtoavoidfuelspillage.
Fillthetankslowlyuntilthefillernozzle
automaticallycuts-offthesupply.Donot
attempttofillthetankbeyondthispoint.
Note:Fillingstationpumpsusedfordiesel
commercialvehiclesdeliverfuelatahigher
ratethannormal.Thehigherfillratecancause
prematurecut-offandmaycausefuelspillage.
Therefore,itisrecommendedthatonly
standardlightvehiclepumpsareused.
