Makesurethewarningindicatorsinthe
exteriormirrorsarenotobscuredby
stickersorotherobjects.
TheBSMsystemwillautomaticallydisableif
eitherofthesensorsbecomecompletely
obscured,anamberwarningindicatordot(2)
isdisplayedintheexteriormirrorandthe
messageBLINDSPOTMONITORSENSOR
BLOCKEDappearsintheMessagecentre.
Donotattachstickersorobjectstothe
rearbumpers,thatmayinterferewith
theradarsensors.
Note:Blockagetestingisonlyinitiatedwhen
thevehicle'sspeedisabove10km/h(6mph)
andwilltakeatleast2minutesofaccumulated
drivingabovethisspeed,todeterminethatthe
sensorisblocked.
Inadditiontothefunctionalityprovidedbythe
BlindSpotMonitor(BSM),theClosingvehicle
detectionsystemmonitorsalargerareabehind
thevehicle(1).Ifavehicleisidentifiedbythe
systemasbeingarapidlyapproachingvehicle
(
2),theamberwarningiconwillflashinthe
Ifthesensorsbecomeblocked,thenplease
checkthatthereisnothingobscuringtherear
bumperandthatitisclearfromice,frostand
dirt.
relevantmirrortoindicatethatthereisa
potentialhazardandtherefore,thatalane
changemightbedangerous.Whenthevehicle
reachestheareamonitoredbytheBSM(3 ),the
amberwarningiconwillilluminate
continuously.
Ifafaultwithoneoftheradarsensorsis
detected,anamberwarningindicatordotis
displayedintheexteriormirrorandthe
messageBLINDSPOTMONITORNOT
AVAILABLEisdisplayedintheMessagecentre.
Theradarmonitorstheareaextendingfromthe
exteriormirrorrearwards,toapproximately70
metres(230feet)behindtherearwheels,and
uptoapproximately2.5metres(8feet)from
thesideofthevehicle.
Note:Evenifthedetectedfaultonlyaffectsthe
radarsensorononesideofthevehicle,the
wholesystemisdisabled.Ifthefaultis
temporary,thesystemwilloperatecorrectly
oncetheenginehasbeenswitchedoffandthen
onagain.
Note:ThisradarsensorisapprovedinallRTTE
countries.
Note:Thesystemcoversanareaofafixedlane
width.Ifthelanesarenarrowerthanatypical
carriagewaylane,objectstravellingin
Ifafaultinthesystemoccurs,consulta
Dealer/AuthorisedRepairer.
