PANELMENU.Lightlypulltheleftpaddle
fordownshiftsorlightlypulltheright
paddleforupshifts.

ToselectDrive(D),Reverse(R ),Neutral
(N)orPark(P),applythefootbrake,then
rotatethegearselectortotherequired
position.TherelatedLEDindicatorbythe
gearselectorwillilluminate.
WhileinD,thegearchangingisfully
automatic.Theshiftpointsaredetermined
bytheacceleratorpedalpositionandthe
vehicle'scurrentspeed.
TRANSMISSIONCOMMANDSHIFT
SELECTEDwillappearbrieflyinthe
MessagecentrewhenCommandShift™is
firstselected.
Toachieverapidacceleration(kick-down)
whileinD,quicklydepresstheaccelerator
pedaltoitsfulltravel.Whentheaccelerator
pedalisrelaxed,normalautomaticgear
changingwillresume.
CommandShift™canbeeffectivewhen
rapidaccelerationandenginebrakingare
required.
Note:BeforeselectingD,R,NorPmake
surethevehicleisstationaryandthe
brakesareapplied.
Agearshiftindicatorwarninglampwill
illuminatebrieflyattherecommended
(upshift)gearchangepoint.See46,GEAR
SHIFT(GREEN).
Note:Ifpressureisappliedtothegear
selectorbeforethefootbrakeisapplied,
theselectedgearmaynotbeavailable.In
thissituation,removethepressurefrom
thegearselector,makesurethefootbrake
isappliedandselecttherequiredgearas
described.
Note:Ifcontinueduseofthe
CommandShift™gearselectorpaddlesis
required,selectDorS.

returntoSmode,lightlypullandholdthe
upshift(+)paddleforapproximately1
second.ToreturntoDmode,movethe
rotarygearselectorbacktotheDposition.

selectordownandrotatetoS.Therelated
LEDbythegearselectorwillilluminate.
Thetransmissionwillstayinthelower
gearsforlonger,improvingmid-range
performance.
Beforeexitingthevehicle,always
makesurethegearselectorisintheP
position,theengineisturnedoff,the
ElectricParkingBrake(EPB)is
appliedandtheSmartkeyisremoved
fromthevehicle.
TodeselectSmode,rotatethegear
selectorbacktoD.
NeverselectPwhilethevehicleisin
motion.Doingsocanresultinserious
transmissiondamage.
