onautomaticallyunderthefollowing
conditions:
ForHighbeamassisttobecomeoperational,
themainlightingswitchmustbeintheAUTO
position(5),withdippedbeamheadlamps
selected.
TheInstrumentpanelwarninglampilluminates
whenHighbeamassistisselected.See47,
HIGHBEAMASSIST(GREEN).
Theengineisrunning.
ThegearselectorisoutofPark(automatic
transmission).
Highbeamassistwillactivateonlywhenthe
vehicle'sspeedexceeds40km/h(25mph).
Thesystemwilldeactivatewhenthevehicle's
speeddropsbelow24km/h(15mph).
Theparkingbrakeisnotapplied-market
dependent.
Tomanuallyselecthighbeam,movethestalk
tothehighbeampositionasnormal.Toreturn
toHighbeamassist,movethestalkbacktothe
centralposition.
Unlessrequiredorprohibitedby
law,theDaytimerunninglamps
featurecanbedisabledorenabled
byaDealer/AuthorisedRepairer.
Tomanuallyoverridetodippedbeamfrom
highbeam,pullthestalktotheflashposition
(2)andHighbeamassistwillbecancelled.To
returntoHighbeamassist,pushthestalkto
thehighbeamposition(1)andthenreturnitto
thecentralposition.
HEADLAMPCOURTESYDELAY
Thisfeatureoperateswheneverthelamps
masterswitchisintheAUTO(5)positionand
theignitionisturnedoff.Theheadlampswill
remainilluminatedforupto240seconds.
ToturnoffHighbeamassist,turnthemain
lightingcontrolfromAutotoheadlamps.
Note:Thetimedelaymaybechangedviathe
VehicleSet-upmenu.See40,INSTRUMENT
PANELMENU.
Thisfeaturecanbedisabled/enabledviathe
VehicleSet-upmenu.See40,INSTRUMENT
PANELMENU.
TheCourtesydelaycanbeswitchedoffatany
timebypressingtheheadlampbuttononthe
Smartkey.
ThefollowingmayaffecttheoperationofHigh
beamassist:
Highlyreflectiveroadsigns.
Dimlylitroadusers,forexamplecyclistsor
pedestrians.
HIGHBEAMASSIST
ThisfeatureoftheXenonlightingautomatically
selectsanddeselectsthehighbeam,under
specificconditionsofroadlightingandinthe
absenceofothervehicle’slights.Thesystemis
onlyactivewhentheambientlightdropsbelow
apredeterminedlevel.
Adverseweatherconditions,forexample
rainorfog.
Dirtyorobscuredsensor.
Dirty,damaged,ormistedwindscreen.
Oncomingvehiclespartiallyobscuredbya
centralhighwaybarrier.
Note:ItisnotrecommendedthatHighbeam
assistisusedwhiledrivingoffroad.
