temperature.Thismeansthatregenerationof
thedieselparticlefilterdoesnottakeplaceand
thefilterisnotefficientlycleaned.Whenthe
filterreachesaconditionwhenafilter
regenerationisappropriateandthecurrent
drivestyleisnotappropriate,awarning
triangleontheInstrumentpanelilluminates
andthemessageDPFFull.Seemanualis
displayedintheMessagecentre.Thisisnot
indicatingafaultconditionwiththevehicleand
nodealershipsupportshouldberequired.Start
regenerationofthefilterbydrivingthevehicle,
preferablyonamainroadormotorway.The
vehicleshouldthenbedrivenforapproximately
Dieselvehiclesequippedwithaparticlefilter
havemoreefficientemissioncontrol.The
particlesintheexhaustgasesarecollectedin
thefilterduringnormaldriving.
WhenaDPFmessageisdisplayed,
accompaniedbyanamberwarninglamp,the
filterrequiresaregenerationcycletoclean
itself.Thisrequirestheenginetohavereached
normaloperatingtemperature.Regeneration
takesplaceautomaticallyatanintervalof
approximately300-900km(190-560miles)
dependingondrivingconditions.Regeneration
normallytakes10-20minutesandis
automaticallyrequestedbytheenginecontrol
moduleifthevehicleisdrivensteadilyat
vehiclespeedsbetween60km/hto112km/h

minutesormore.
Whenregenerationiscompletethewarning
textisclearedautomatically.

mphto70mph).Itispossiblethatthe
regenerationprocesswilloccuratlower
vehiclespeeds,buttheeventsmaytakealittle
longerata50km/h(30mph)averagespeed.
Note:Asmallincreaseinfuelconsumption
maybenoticedtemporarilyduring

Note:Ifregenerationisnotsuccessfully
carriedout,theamberwarninglampwill
eventuallybereplacedbyaredwarninglamp.
ANTI-THEFTSYSTEM
Nomodificationsoradditionsshould
bemadetotheanti-theftsystem.Such
changescouldcausethesystemto
malfunction.
Note:Ifdieselfuelwithahighsulphurcontent
isusedregularly,whenaDPFregeneration
cyclestartstheexhaustwillemitacloudof
smoke.Thisisthesulphurdepositbeingburnt
offandisnocauseforconcern.Ifpossible,use
onlylowsulphurdieselfuel.
