STARTINGTHEENGINE.EachSmartkeyalso
hasanemergencykeyhousedinaslideout
compartment.
3. Tailgaterelease:
Pressbrieflytoopenthetailgate.Ifthe
vehicleislockedandarmed,the
securitysystemwillremainactive
whilethetailgateisopen,butintrusion
andinclinationsensingsystemswillbe
disabled.
Whenclosingthetailgateagain,ifthe
vehicleisalreadylockedandarmed,
thehazardwarninglampswillflash
afterafewsecondstoconfirmthatthe
fullalarmsystemhasbeenreactivated.
Therewillalsobeanaudiblesoundif
thevehiclewasdoublelocked.See9,

Unlock:
Pressbrieflytounlockthevehicleand
deactivatethealarm.Thehazard
warninglampswillflashtwiceto
indicatethatthevehicleisunlocked
andthealarmhasbeendeactivated.
Theinteriorlampsandpuddlelamps
willilluminatetoassistentrytothe
vehicle.
MakesuretheSmartkeydoesnot
remaininthevehiclepriorto
closure.Ifthevehicleisinanarea
oflocalisedRadioFrequency(RF)
interferenceortheSmartkeyis
shieldedbymetalobjects,the
vehiclemaycloseandlockwithno
meansofopeningagain.
Power-foldmirrorswillunfold(if
enabled).See7,GLOBALOPENING.

Panicalarm:
Pressandholdfor3seconds(orpress
3timeswithin3seconds)toactivate
thehornandthehazardlamps.
Onceactiveformorethan5seconds,
thealarmcanbecancelledbypressing
thebuttonandholdingfor3seconds
(orpressing3timeswithin3seconds).
Theemergencyalarmwillalsobe
cancelledifavalidSmartkeyispresent
whentheSTART/STOPbuttonis
pressed.
