If the “ESP/ BAS Warning Lamp” comes on continu ously
with the engine running, a malfunction has been detected
in either the ESP or the BAS system , or both. If this light
rem ains on after several ignition cycles, and the vehicle
has been driven several miles at speed s greater than 30
mph (48 km/ h), see you r authorized dealer as soon as
possible to have the problem diagnosed and corrected .
WARN ING!
With the ESP switch ed off, the enhanced veh icle
stab ility offered by ESP and ERM are unavailab le. In
an emergen cy evasive maneuver, the ESP and ERM
system s will not engage to assist in main tain ing
stab ility. The “Full Off” mode is inten ded for off-
high way or off-road use only.

tarily each time the ignition switch is turned ON.
ESP/BAS Warning Lamp
The malfunction ind icator lamp for the ESP is
combined with the BAS ind icator. The yellow
“ESP/ BAS Warning Lamp” in the instru ment
cluster comes on when the ignition switch is
turned to the “ON ” position. It shou ld go out with the
engine running.

The ESP Control System will make buzzing or clicking
sou nd s when it is active. This is norm al; the sou nd s
will stop when ESP becom es inactive follow ing the
maneu ver that caused the ESP activation.
