STARTING AND OPERATING
Shift Lock Manual Override
Your vehicle may be equ ipped with a shift lock manu al
overrid e. The manu al overrid e may be used in the event
that the shift lever shou ld fail to move from Park with the
key in the ON position and the brake pedal depressed . To
operate the shift lock manu al overrid e, perform the
follow ing step s:
1.
Firmly set the parking brake.
2.
Using a flat blad e screw driver, carefu lly rem ove the
shift lock manu al overrid e cover which is located on the
PRNDL bezel, in front of the P (Park) grap hic.
5.
(Neutral).
Dep ress the shifter release button and shift into N

brake pedal.
Dep ress and maintain firm pressu re on the service
6.
The vehicle may then be started in N (Neutral).
4.
Using the screw driver, reach into the manu al overrid e
opening. Press and hold the shift lock lever down.
Have you r vehicle insp ected by you r local authorized
dealer, if the shift lock manu al overrid e has been used .
