The Autom atic Com pass Calibration featu re eliminates
the need for the operator intervention und er norm al
cond itions. If the CAL ind icator is lit, the compass need s
to be calibrated . A good calibration requ ires a level
surface and an environm ent free of large metal objects 4
such as large buildings, brid ges, und ergrou nd cables,
railroad tracks, etc.
Trip B
Show s the total distance traveled for trip B since the last
reset.
Compass Temperature Display
This display provid es the outsid e tem peratu re and one of
eight compass read ings to ind icate the direction the
vehicle is facing.
Autom atic Com pass Calib ration
The self-calibrating featu re of the compass eliminates the
need to calibrate the compass for norm al cond itions.
During a short initial period , the compass may appear
erratic and the CAL sym bol will appear (blinking) on the
display. After the vehicle has completed at least one
complete circle und er 5 mph (8 km/ h) in an area free
from large metal objects, calibration will be complete
when the CAL sym bol is extingu ished .
WARN ING!
Even if the disp lay still read s a few degrees above
( 0°C), the road surface may be icy, particu larly
in wood s or on brid ges. Drive carefu lly under such
condition s to preven t an accid ent and possib le per-
son al injury or prop erty damage.
