THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR  VEHICLE
This  vehicle  has   airbags  for  both   the  driver   and  right
front  passenger  as  a supplement   to the  seat belt  restraint
system s.  The  driver’s   front   airbag   is  mounted   in   the
steering  wheel.  The  passenger  side  airbag  is mounted   in
the instru  ment panel,  above  the  glove compartm  ent. The
word s SRS/ AIRBAG  are embossed  on  the airbag  covers.
NOTE:    The  front   airbags  are   certified  to  the  Federal
regu lations  that  allow  less forcefu l deploym  ent.
The front  airbags  have  a  multistage  inflator  design.   This
may  allow  the  airbag  to have  different   rates  of inflation
that  are  based   on  collision  severity   and  occupant   size.
Also, the  front passenger   airbag  is certified  to the Federal
regu lations  that  define  Occupant  Classification   (Refer  to
ЉOccupant   Classification  SystemЉ  in  this section).
Sid e Airb ag Location
NOTE:   Airbag  covers  may not  be obviou s in the interior
trim ; but  they will  open  to allow  airbag   deploym ent.
If  the  vehicle  is  equ ipped   with  side   airbags,   they  are
located  insid e the  driver   and  front  passenger  seats,  and
their  covers  are also  labeled  SRS/ AIRBAG.
