Thisfeaturehelpstopreventyoufromlockingyourselfoutofthevehicle
ifyourkeyisstillintheignition.
Whenyouopenoneofthefrontdoorsandyoulockthevehiclewiththe
powerdoorlockcontrol(onthedriverorpassengerdoortrimpanel),all
thedoorswilllock,thenalldoorswillautomaticallyunlockreminding
youthatyourkeyisstillintheignition.
Thevehiclecanstillbelocked,withthekeyintheignition,usingthe
controlonthetransmitter,orlockingthevehiclewiththekeylessentry
keypad.
Ifbothfrontdoorsareclosed,thevehiclecanbelockedbyanymethod,
regardlessofwhetherthekeyisintheignitionornot.
Smartunlocksforintelligentaccesskeys(IAkey)(ifequipped)
Thesmartunlockfeatureisintendedtopreventyoufromunintentionally
lockingyourIAkeyinsideyourvehicle’spassengercompartmentor
trunk.
Whenyoulockyourvehicleusingthedriverorpassengerpowerdoor
lockcontrol(withthedooropen),afteryouclosethedoorthevehicle
willsearchforanIAkeyinthepassengercompartment.IfanIAkeyis
foundinsidethevehicle,allofthedoorswillimmediatelyunlockandthe
hornwillchirp,indicatingthattheIAkeyisinside.
Inordertooverridethesmartunlockfeatureandintentionallylockthe
IAkeyinsidethevehicle,youcanlockyourvehicleusingyourkeyless
entrykeypadorusingthe
controlonanotherIAkey.RefertoKeyless
entrysysteminthischapterformoreinformationonkeylessentry
keypadoperation.
Ifyourvehicle’sperimeteralarmisinthearmedstate,thesmartunlock
featurewillnotallowyoutolockyourIAkeyinsidethetrunk.Whenthe
alarmisarmed,iftheIAkeyisdetectedinthetrunk,thedecklidwill
