AlltheLATCHloweranchorsareequallyspaced,280mm(11inches)
apart,sothatasingleLATCHchildseatcanbeinstalledatanyrear
seatingposition.Iftwochildsafetyseatsareinstalledusingthe
LATCHloweranchors,theymustbeplacedintheoutboard
seatingpositionsonly.Ifthreechildsafetyseatsareinstalled,
youcaninstalltwousingtheLATCHloweranchorsbyplacing
themineachoutboardseatingpositionandthethirdinthe
centerusingthelap/shoulderbelt,ORyoucanusetheLATCH
loweranchorsforthecenterchildsafetyseatandthe
lap/shoulderbeltsfortheothertwochildsafetyseatsinthe
outboardpositions.Usethetetheranchorsifapplicable.
WARNING:Neverattachtwochildsafetyseatstothesame
anchor.Inacrash,oneanchormaynotbestrongenoughtohold
twochildsafetyseatattachmentsandmaybreak,causingserious
injuryordeath.
IfyouinstallachildseatwithrigidLATCHattachments,andhave
attachedthetoptetherstraptothepropertoptetheranchor,donot
tightenthetetherstrapenoughtoliftthechildseatoffthevehicleseat
cushionwhenthechildisseatedinit.Keepthetetherstrapjustsnug
withoutliftingthefrontofthechildseat.Keepingthechildseatjust
touchingthevehicleseatgivesthebestprotectioninaseverecrash.
Eachtimeyouusethesafetyseat,checkthattheseatisproperly
attachedtotheloweranchorsandtetheranchor,ifapplicable.Tugthe
childseatfromsidetosideandforwardandbackwhereitissecuredto
thevehicle.Theseatshouldmovelessthanoneinchwhenyoudothis
foraproperinstallation.
Ifthesafetyseatisnotanchoredproperly,theriskofachildbeing
injuredinacrashgreatlyincreases.
WARNING:Dependingonwhereyousecureachildrestraint,
anddependingonthechildrestraintdesign,youmayblock
accesstocertainsafetybeltbuckleassembliesand/orLATCHlower
anchors,renderingthosefeaturespotentiallyunusable.Toavoidriskof
injury,occupantsshouldonlyuseseatingpositionswheretheyareable
tobeproperlyrestrained.
