Beforeaddinganyfluid,makesurethecorrecttypeisused.Thetypeof
fluidusedisnormallyindicatedonthedipstickandalsointhe
Maintenanceproductspecificationsandcapacitiessectioninthis
chapter.
Useofanon-approvedautomatictransmissionfluidmaycause
internaltransmissioncomponentdamage.
Ifnecessary,addfluidin1/2pint
(250
ml)incrementsthroughthe
fillertubeuntiltheleveliscorrect.
Ifanoverfilloccurs,excessfluid
shouldberemovedbyanauthorized
dealer.

Anoverfillconditionof
transmissionfluidmaycauseshiftand/orengagementconcerns
and/orpossibledamage.
Donotusesupplementaltransmissionfluidadditives,treatmentsor
cleaningagents.Theuseofthesematerialsmayaffecttransmission
operationandresultindamagetointernaltransmissioncomponents.
ForvehiclesequippedwiththeEcoBoostengine,reinstalltheair
filterassembly.
Afterthefluidlevelhasbeencheckedandadjustedasnecessary,dothe
following:
A.Shuttheengineoff.
B.Loosentheclampholdingtheairfilterassemblytotherubberhose.
C.Rotatetheairfilterassembly90degreesclockwisewithout
disconnectingthesensor.
D.Seattheairfilterassemblybackintothegrommetsbypushingdown
ontheairfilterassembly.
E.Tightentheclamp.
F.Installandtightentwoboltsthatattachairfilterassemblytothefront
ofthevehicle.
G.Installtheboltcover(ifequipped).
H.Reinstalltheharnessretainingclipintothefrontoftheairfilter
assembly.
