Theradarsensordetectsvehicles

directionasyourvehicle.
Iftheradardetectsthatyour
vehicleisrapidlyclosingonanother
vehiclearedwarninglightwill
illuminateandanaudiblewarning
chimewillsound.
Afterthat,iftheriskofcollision
furtherincreasesafterthewarning
light,thebrakesupportprepares
thebrakesystemforrapidbraking.
Thismaybeapparenttothedriver.
However,thesystemwillnot
automaticallyactivatethebrakes.
Thevehiclewillnotstopunlessthedriverpressesthebrakepedal.Ifthe
brakepedalispressedthenbrakingisimplementedwithfullbrake
function,eveniftheforceonthebrakepedalislight.
Thecollisionwarningsystemisactiveatspeedsaboveapproximately
5
mph(8km/h).
Collisionwarningsystemlimitations
Duetothenatureofradartechnology,theremaybecertaininstances
wherevehicleswillnotprovideacollisionwarning.Theseinclude:
Stationaryorslowmovingvehiclesbelow6mph(10km/h).
Pedestriansorobjectsintheroadway.
Oncomingvehiclesinthesamelane.
Severeweatherconditions(seealsoblockedsensorsection).
Debrisbuild-uponthegrilleneartheheadlamps(seeblocksensor
section).
Smalldistancetovehicleahead.
Steeringwheelandpedalmovementsarelarge(veryactivedriving
style).
Highinteriortemperatures,whichmaydeactivatetheilluminationor
thewarninglampsuntiltheinteriortemperaturereduces(audible
warningwillalertthedriver).
Inaddition,sunloadandsunglassesmayreducethevisibilityofthe
warninglamps.Therefore,itisrecommendedtokeeptheaudible
warningon.
