IfyoucannotmovethegearshiftleveroutofP(Park)withtheignition
intheonpositionandthebrakepedalpressed,itispossiblethatafuse
hasblownorthevehicle’sbrakelampsarenotoperatingproperly.Refer
toFusesandrelaysintheRoadsideEmergencieschapter.
Ifthefuseisnotblownandthebrakelampsareworkingproperly,the
followingprocedurewillallowyoutomovethegearshiftleverfromP
(Park).Note:Forsomemarketsthisfeaturewillbedisabled.

Applytheparkingbrake.
Removethecupholderinsert.
Usingascrewdriver(orsimilar
tool),removetheprotectivecover
totheinterlockreleaseaccesshole
ontheconsole.
4.
Insertthescrewdriver(orsimilar
tool)intotheaccessholeandpress
whilepullingthegearshiftleverout
oftheP(Park)positionandinto
theN(Neutral)position.
5.
Removethetoolandreinstallthe
protectivecover.
6.
Startthevehicleandreleasetheparkingbrake.
Seeyourauthorizeddealerassoonaspossibleifthisprocedure
isused.
WARNING:Donotdriveyourvehicleuntilyouverifythatthe
brakelampsareworking.
WARNING:Alwayssettheparkingbrakefullyandmakesure
thegearshiftislatchedinP(Park).Turntheignitiontotheoff
positionandremovethekeywheneveryouleaveyourvehicle.
WARNING:Iftheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased,butthebrake
warninglampremainsilluminated,thebrakesmaynotbe
workingproperly.Seeyourauthorizeddealerassoonaspossible.
