Ifyourfootisonthebrakepedal,avibrationinthepedal

brakepedalmaymoveasthesystemsapplieshigherbrakeforces.You
mayalsohearawhooshofairfromundertheinstrumentpanelduring
thisseverecondition.

Thebrakepedalmayfeelstifferthanusual.
Tractioncontrolsystem(TCS)
Thetractioncontrolsystemisadriveraidfeaturethathelpsyourvehicle
maintaintractionofthewheels,typicallywhendrivingonslipperyand/or
hillyroadsurfaces,bydetectingandcontrollingwheelspin.
Excessivewheelspiniscontrolledintwoways,whichmaywork
separatelyorintandem,enginetractioncontrolandbraketraction
control.Enginetractioncontrolworkstolimitdrive-wheelspinby
momentarilyreducingenginepower.Braketractioncontrolworkstolimit
wheelspinbymomentarilyapplyingthebrakestothewheelthatis
slipping.Tractioncontrolismostactiveatlowspeeds.
DuringTCSevents,thestabilitycontrollightintheinstrumentcluster
willflash.
IftheTCSisactivatedexcessivelyinashortperiodoftime,thebraking
portionofthesystemmaybecometemporarilydisabledtoallowthe
brakestocooldown.Inthissituation,theTCSwilluseonlyengine
powerreductionortransfertohelpcontrolthewheelsfrom
over-spinning.Whenthebrakeshavecooleddown,thesystemwillregain
allfeatures.Anti-lockbrakingandESCwillcontinuetofunctionduring
thecool-downperiod.
Theenginetractioncontrolandbraketractioncontrolsystemmaybe
deactivatedincertainsituations.SeetheSwitchingoffAdvanceTrac

Electronicstabilitycontrol(ESC)
Electronicstabilitycontrol(ESC)mayenhanceyourvehicle’sdirectional
stabilityduringadversemaneuvers,forexamplewhencorneringseverely
oravoidingobjectsintheroadway.Electronicstabilitycontroloperates
byapplyingbrakestooneormoreofthewheelsindividuallyand,if
necessary,reducingenginepowerifthesystemdetectsthatthevehicle
isabouttoskidorslidelaterally.
