Afteridlingforafewseconds,releasetheparkingbrake,applythe
brake,shiftintogearanddrive.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartonthefirsttry,turnthevehicletothe
offposition,wait10secondsandtryStep2again.Iftheenginestillfails
tostart,presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryStep2again,keeping
theacceleratorontheflooruntiltheenginebeginstoaccelerateabove
crankingspeeds;thiswillallowtheenginetocrankwiththefuelshutoff
incasetheengineisfloodedwithfuel.
Push button start system (if equipped)
Ifyourvehicleisequippedwiththe
pushbuttonstartsystem,youcan
startyourvehiclebypressingthe
startbuttonincombinationwiththe
brakepedalratherthanusingakey.
Thestartbuttonislocatedonthe
instrumentpaneltotherightofthe
steeringwheel.
InordertooperatethePushButton
Startsystemandstartthevehicle,
yourIntelligentAccesskey(IAkey)
mustbepresentinsidethevehicle,eitherinthepassengercompartment
orinthetrunk.
Ignitionmodes

Off—pressandreleasetheSTART/STOPbuttonwithoutapplyingthe
brakepedalwhenyourvehicleisinaccessoryoronmodesorwhenthe
engineisrunning.Note:Whenthevehicleisinmotion,asinglepress
andreleaseoftheSTART/STOPbuttonwillnotswitchofftheengine.In
ordertoswitchofftheenginewhilethevehicleisinmotion,pressand
holdtheSTART/STOPbuttonforatleastonesecond.
2.
Accessory—pressandreleasetheSTART/STOPbuttonwithout
applyingthebrakepedal.Thisallowselectricalaccessoriessuchasthe
radiotooperatewhiletheengineisnotrunning.ACCESSORYPOWER
ACTIVEandPRESSBRAKETOSTARTwillbedisplayedinthemessage
center.RefertoMessagecenterintheInstrumentClusterchapterfor
moreinformation.
