Tires, Wheels and Loading
GCW(GrossCombinedWeight)–istheweightoftheloadedvehicle
(GVW)plustheweightofthefullyloadedtrailer.
GCWR(GrossCombinedWeightRating)–isthemaximumallowable
weightofthevehicleandtheloadedtrailer–includingallcargoand
passengers–thatthevehiclecanhandlewithoutriskingdamage.
(Important:Thetowingvehicles’brakingsystemisratedforoperationat
GVWR,notatGCWR.Separatefunctionalbrakesshouldbeusedforsafe
controloftowedvehiclesandfortrailerswheretheGCWofthetowing
vehicleplusthetrailerexceedtheGVWRofthetowingvehicle.The
GCWmustneverexceedtheGCWR.
MaximumLoadedTrailerWeight–isthehighestpossibleweightofa
fullyloadedtrailerthevehiclecantow.Itassumesavehiclewithonly
mandatoryoptions,nocargo(internalorexternal),atongueloadof
10–15%
(conventionaltrailer),anddriveronly(150lb.[68kg]).Consult
yourauthorizeddealer(ortheRVandTrailerTowingGuide
providedbyyourauthorizeddealer)formoredetailed
information.

WARNING:Donotusereplacementtireswithlowerload
carryingcapacitiesthantheoriginaltiresbecausetheymay
lowerthevehicle’sGVWRandGAWRlimitations.Replacementtires
withahigherlimitthantheoriginaltiresdonotincreasetheGVWR
andGAWRlimitations.

Stepsfordeterminingthecorrectloadlimit:

Locatethestatement“Thecombinedweightofoccupantsandcargo
shouldneverexceedXXXkgorXXXlbs.”onyourvehicle’splacard.
