lighttoturnoffafteryouhavefilledyourtirestotherecommended
inflationpressure.
Howtemperatureaffectsyourtirepressure
Thetirepressuremonitoringsystem(TPMS)monitorstirepressurein
eachpneumatictire.Whiledrivinginanormalmanner,atypical
passengertireinflationpressuremayincreaseapproximately2to4psi
(14
to28kPa)fromacoldstartsituation.Ifthevehicleisstationary
overnightwiththeoutsidetemperaturesignificantlylowerthanthe
daytimetemperature,thetirepressuremaydecreaseapproximately3psi
(21
kPa)foradropof30°F(17°C)inambienttemperature.Thislower
pressurevaluemaybedetectedbytheTPMSasbeingsignificantlylower
thantherecommendedinflationpressureandactivatetheTPMSwarning
forlowtirepressure.Ifthelowtirepressurewarninglightison,visually
checkeachtiretoverifythatnotireisflat.(Ifoneormoretiresareflat,
repairasnecessary.)Checkairpressureintheroadtires.Ifanytireis
under-inflated,carefullydrivethevehicletothenearestlocationwhere
aircanbeaddedtothetires.Inflateallthetirestotherecommended
inflationpressure.
