continuouslyinthemessagecenter
whileACCisactive.
Note:RESUMEshouldonlybeused
ifthedriverisawareoftheset
speedandintendstoreturntoit.
Lowspeedautomaticcancellation
ACCisnotfunctionalatvehiclespeedsbelow18mph(30km/h).Once
thevehiclespeeddropsbelow18mph(30km/h),anaudiblealarmwill
sound,thehead’supdisplaywillflashandtheautomaticbrakingwillbe
released.
Hillyconditionusage
ItisrecommendedthatthedriverselectalowergearpositionwhenACC
isactiveinsituationssuchasprolongeddownhilldrivingonsteepgrades
(i.e.,drivinginmountainousareas).Inthesesituations,additionalengine
brakingisneededtoreducetheloadonthevehicle’sregularbrake
systemtopreventthemfromoverheating.Formoreinformation,
referenceAutomatictransmissionoperationintheDrivingchapter.
Note:IfACCisapplyingbrakesforanextendedperiodoftime,an
audiblealarmwillsound,thehead’supdisplaywillflashandACCwill
shutdown.Thisistoallowthebrakestocooldown.Whenthebrakes
havecooleddown,theACCwillagainfunctionnormally.
