TheBLIS௡andCTAhasayellow
indicator(alsoreferredtoasthe
alert)locatedintheleftandright
exteriormirrors.Whenthevehicleis
started,theBLIS௡automatically
illuminatesbothindicatorsfor
severalsecondsindicatingthe
systemisoperating.Thefirsttime
youplacethetransmissioninD(Drive)afterstartingtheengineand
driveforwardataspeedgreaterthan3mph(5km/h)theBLIS௡system
becomesactive.Afterwards,theBLIS௡remainsactiveforallspeeds
includingzeromph.BLIS௡isalsoactiveifthetransmissionisplacedinN
(Neutral).IfthetransmissionisshiftedoutofD(Drive)orN(Neutral)
thesystemwillentertheCTAmode(seeCTAoperationbelow).Once
shiftedbackintoD(Drive)theBLIS௡modewillactivateoncedriven
above3mph(5km/h).
TheBLIS௡willtriggerthealertforvehiclesthatenteryourblindzone
fromtherearormergeintotheblindzonefromtheside.Vehiclesthat
youpass,oravehiclethatenterstheblindzonefromthefront,will
triggerthealertonlyafterthevehicleispresentintheblindzonefor
threeseconds.Note:Forvehiclesthatpassthroughtheblindzone
quickly,typicallylessthentwoseconds,theBLIS௡willnotilluminatethe
alert.
TheBLIS௡consistsoftworadar
sensorseachlocatedrearwardof
therearwheelshiddenbehindthe
bumperfascia.Donotplaceany
typeofbumperstickerinthisarea.
Note:TheBLIS௡typicallywillnot
detectparkedvehicles,humans,
animals,orinfrastructure(fences,
guardrails,trees,etc.).TheBLIS௡
doesnotfunctionwhenthetransmissionisinR(Reverse)orP(Park).
TheBLIS௡doesnotprovideanyadditionalwarningwhenyourturn
signalisactivated.
