whentheBLISwillalertwithnoobjectpresentintheblindzone.This
isknownasafalsealert.Someleveloffalsealertsarenormal.
Circumstancesthatmaycauseafalsealertareguardrails,freeway
concretewalls,cyclonefencing,sharpturnsaroundapoleorbuilding,or
comingtoastopwithavehicledirectlybehindbutveryclose.False
alertsaretemporaryandselfcorrect.
Crosstrafficalert(CTA)systemoperation
TheCTAsystemwarnsthedriverofapproachingvehicleswhenR
(Reverse)isselectedandthevehicleisbackingoutofafront-inparking
spot.ItsoundsaseriesoftonesandflashestheBLISindicatorfoundon
theexteriormirroronthesideoftheapproachingvehicle.Additionally,
themessagecenterwilldisplayeither,VEHICLECOMINGFROMRIGHT
orVEHICLECOMINGFROMLEFTtowarnthedriverfromwhich
directionvehiclesareapproaching.
Thesystemisnotdesignedtopreventcontactwithothervehiclesor
objects.Thesystemisdesignedtoprovideawarningtoassistthedriver
indetectingvehiclesintheblindzones.Thesystemwillnotdetect
infrastructure,pedestrians,orbicyclists.
WARNING:Tohelpavoidpersonalinjury,NEVERusetheCTA
systemasareplacementforusingthesideandrearviewmirrors
andlookingoveryourshoulderbeforebackingoutofaparkingspace.
