transmittersinthevehiclemayaffectcertainimplantedmedical
devicessuchaspacemakersorcardiacdefibrillators.Peoplehaving
suchimplantedmedicaldevicesshouldaskthemedicaldevice
manufacturerortheirphysicianwhethertheintelligentaccesssystem
mayaffecttheequipmentbeforecomingintocloseproximitywitha
vehicleequippedwithintelligentaccess.Failuretodosomayresultin
interferencewiththemedicaldevice,whichcouldresultinserious
injury.
Yourvehiclewillallowyoutounlockandenteryourvehiclewithout
activelyusingakeyortransmitter.YoucanusetheIntelligentAccess
featureatthedriverdoororatthetrunk.Youcanactivatetheintelligent
accessfeatureaslongasyouhaveoneofyourintelligentaccesskeys
withinrangeofthedriverdoororthetrunk.
Activatingintelligentaccessatthedriver’sdoor:IfyourIAkeyis
within3feet(1meter)ofthedriversdoor,youcanactivateyour
intelligentaccesssystembypressinganybuttononthekeylessentry
keypad.Thedriversdoorwillautomaticallyunlockandthedoorcanbe
opened.

pressanybuttononthekeylessentrykeypad).
Activatingintelligentaccessatthetrunk:IfyourIAkeyiswithin

systembypressingtheexteriortrunkreleasebutton,hiddenbelowthe
licenseplate.Thetrunkwillreleaseandopen.

RefertotheRemoteentrysysteminthissectionformoredetailson
howtousethelock,unlock,panic,ortrunkbuttonsonthetransmitter.
Yourintelligentaccesssystemusesaradiofrequency(RF)signalto
communicatewithyourvehicleandauthorizeyourvehicletounlock
whencommanded(eitherbypressinganykeylessentrykeypadbutton,
thetrunkbutton,orabuttononthetransmitteritself).IfexcessiveRF
interferenceispresentinthearea,orifyourvehiclebatteryislow,it
maybenecessarytomechanicallyunlockyourdoor.Themechanicalkey
bladeinyourIAkeycanbeusedtoopenthedriver’sdoorinthis
situation(refertoIntelligentaccesskeyinthischapterformore
informationonthelocationanduseofthemechanicalkeyblade).
AmechanicalkeyisneededforaccessiftheIAkeybatteryorvehicle
batteryislow.
