Batteryremovalandreplacement
Yourvehiclemaybefittedwithabattery
backed-upsounder,whichoperatesasan
anti-theftsirenifthemainbatteryis
disconnected.
Ifitisnecessarytoremovethemainvehicle
battery,itisESSENTIALtoadoptthefollowing
procedurebeforedisconnectingtheterminals
inordertopreventthesirenfromsounding:
1.
Turnthestarterswitch’on’andthen’off’.
Thenremovethekey.
2.
DisconnectthevehiclebatteryWITHIN15
SECONDS(ifitisnotdisconnectedwithin
15
seconds,theback-upsirenwillsound
immediatelythebatteryterminalsare
disconnected).
ALWAYSdisconnectthenegative(’-’)terminal
first.Whenreplacing,connectthepositive
(’+’)
terminalfirst.
Ifthesirensoundswhenthebatteryis
reconnected,itCANNOTbeturnedoffinthe
normalway(ie.byoperatingthehandset
buttons).Todeactivatethesiren,disarmthe
alarmsystemwiththehandsetandturnthe
starterswitchtoposition’II’.
