STARTERSWITCH
Thestarterswitchislocatedtotheleftofthe
steeringcolumn,andusesthefollowing
sequenceofkeypositionstooperatethe
steeringlock,electricalcircuitsandstarter
motor.
Position’0’
Steeringlocked(ifkeyisremoved).
Mostlightingcircuitsareoperational,
including:sidelights,headlights,hazard
warninglightsandrearfogguardlights.
Position’I’
Tounlockthesteeringcolumn
InserttheignitionkeyFULLYandturnthe
starterswitchtoposition’I’,whileturningthe
steeringwheelslightlytodisengagethelock.
Steeringunlocked.
Radio/cassetteplayercanbeoperated.
Position’II’
Tolockthesteeringcolumn
Turnthestarterswitchtoposition’0’and
withdrawthekeyfromthestarterswitch.Turn
thesteeringwheeltowardsthestraightahead
positionuntilthelockengages.
Allinstruments,warninglightsandelectrical
circuitsareoperational.
Position’III’
Startermotoroperates.
Releasethekeyimmediatelytheenginestarts
(thekeywillautomaticallyreturntoposition
’II’).
WARNING
DONOTremove the key or turn the starter
switch to position ’0’ while the vehicle is in
motion. Once the steering lock is engaged,
it is impossible to steer the vehicle.
Notethatoperationofposition’I’electrical
functionswillbeinterruptedduringengine
cranking.
