differentialsaresituatedBELOWthechassis
andarepositionedslightlytotheRIGHTofthe
centreofthevehicle.Notealsothatthereare
otherpartsofthevehiclewhichmaycome
intocontactwiththeground;takecarenotto
groundthevehicle.
OnvehiclesnotfittedwithTractioncontrol,if
thevehicleisimmobileduetolossofwheel
grip,thefollowinghintscouldbeofvalue:

Avoidprolongedwheelspin;thiswillmake
mattersworse.

Removeobstaclesratherthanforcingthe
vehicleacrossthem.

Groundclearanceisparticularlyimportantat
thebottomofsteepaslope,orwherewheel
rutsareunusuallydeepandwheresudden
changesintheslopeofthegroundare
experienced.

momentummayovercometheobstacle.

materialplacedinfrontofthetyreswill
improvetyregrip.
Onsoftgroundtheaxledifferentialswillclear
theirownpathinallbutthemostdifficult
conditions.However,onfrozen,rockyorhard
ground,hardcontactbetweenthedifferentials
andthegroundwillgenerallyresultinthe
vehiclecomingtoasuddenstop.
Alwaysattempttoavoidobstaclesthatmay
foulthechassisoraxledifferentials.
