whilestartingandholditdownuntilthe
engineisrunning.

thatthegearleverisinneutral.
Switchoffallunnecessaryelectrical
equipment.
Intemperateclimates,DONOToperatethe
starterforlongerthan10seconds;ifthe
enginefailstostart,switchoffandwait10
secondsbeforere-usingthestarter.Please
notethatprolongeduseofthestarterwillnot
onlydischargethebatterybutmayalso
damagethestartermotor.
Insertthestarterkeyandturntheswitch
toposition’II’.Waituntiltheglowplug
warninglightextinguishes.
NOTE: When restarting a warm engine, it will
not be necessary to wait for the glow plug
warning light to extinguish.

Turnthekeytoposition’III’tooperatethe
startermotor;DONOTpressthe
acceleratorpedalduringstarting,and
RELEASETHEKEYassoonastheengine
isrunning.
NOTE: In temperate climates, the battery
charging and oil pressure warning lights
should extinguish as soon as the engine is
running.
