ENGINEIMMOBILISATION
Engineimmobilisationisanimportantaspect
ofthevehicle’ssecuritysystem,andoccurs
automaticallywheneverthealarmsystemis
armed.
Thesystemalsoincludesafeatureknownas
’passiveimmobilisation’,whichisdesignedto
safeguardthevehiclefromtheftshouldthe
driverforgettolockthedoorsorarmthe
alarm.
Interiorprotection
Interiorprotectionisactivatedautomatically
whenthealarmsystemisarmed;twinsensors
insidethevehiclemonitortheinteriorspace
andwillactivatethealarmifanintrusionis
detected.
Passiveimmobilisationoccursautomatically:
•
thirtysecondsafterthestarterswitchhas
beenturnedoffANDthedriver’sdoor
opened.
•
fiveminutesafterthestarterswitchis
turnedofforthealarmsystemis
disarmed.
However,ifpassengersoranimalsaretobe
leftinsidethevehicle,orifawindowor
sunroofistobeleftopen,thealarmmustbe
armedwithinteriorprotectionDISABLEDas
follows:
IMPORTANTINFORMATION
Theengineimmobilisationsystemrelies
onthehandsettore-mobilisetheengine.
Lookafterthehandsetsatalltimes,
protectingthemfromloss,damageand
batterydischarge.
To disable interior protection:
1.

Openthedriver’sdoor.
Withthedriver’sdooropen,usethe
handsettoarmthealarminthenormalway.
3.Closethedriver’sdoor(thedirection
indicatorlightsflashthreetimesandthe
anti-theftindicatorlightcommencesflashing
rapidly).Thealarmsystemisnowarmedwith
interiorprotectiondisabled.
Iftheenginehasimmobilisedpassively,
re-mobilisationwilloccurwhenthe
starterswitchisturnedtoposition’II’,
providedthehandsetisonthesamering
asthekeyandincloseproximitytothe
switch.
WARNING
If the vehicle is to be left with windows or
sunroof open, or with passengers or animals
inside, the interior protection MUSTBE
DISABLED, as described above.

ALWAYSkeepthehandsetonthe
sameringasthekey.
•
NEVERattachbothhandsetstothe
SAMEkeyring.
Anyattempttostarttheenginewhileitis
immobilisedwillcausetheengine
immobilisationwarninglight(ontheleft
ofthewarninglightpanel)toflash.
NOTE: Interior protection will not operate for
the first 15 seconds after the alarm is set.
